**🐇 Ingredients & Safety
A transparent guide to what goes into Poppy’s Burrow Blends** ![]() Every sprinkle and blend created for Poppy’s Burrow is made from gentle, bunny-safe herbs and grains chosen specifically for enrichment, natural variety, and occasional wellness support. This page explains what we use, why we use it, and how to offer herbs safely to rabbits of all ages. ⸻ 🌿 What “Bunny-Safe” Means Not all herbs are safe for rabbits, and not all safe herbs are appropriate for daily use. Our blends follow these principles: ✔ No sugars or dried fruit ✔ No seeds (except tiny amounts of flax when noted) ✔ No oils, fillers, or artificial additives ✔ No alfalfa, wheat bran, or concentrated proteins ✔ No high-calcium daily herbs ✔ Always limited-quantity enrichment — not diet replacements Each ingredient is selected for light enrichment, natural scent variety, or gentle digestive comfort. ⸻ 🌸 Ingredients We Use in Our Blends 🍃 Dandelion Leaf A nutrient-rich, bunny-friendly herb used for natural variety and occasional urinary support. Use: Used only in pinches. ⸻ 🐇 Age Recommendations Baby Rabbits (Under 6 Months) ❌ No grains ❌ No seeds ❌ No rosehips or sugary botanicals ✔ Very tiny amounts of leaf-only herbs, introduced one at a time ✔ Must be offered very rarely (once every 1–2 weeks) Poppy can enjoy tiny leaf/herb sprinkles, but blends with oats, flax, or wheat germ should wait until 6 months. ⸻ 🌿 Safety Guidelines 1. Herbs Are Not Treats They are enrichment — a way to provide natural variety, scent, and mental stimulation. 2. Less Is Always More Rabbits have very sensitive digestive systems. We always recommend tiny pinches, not spoonfuls. 3. Monitor Poops & Appetite If stool softens, becomes smaller, or bunny shows bloating: ➡ stop herbs immediately ➡ return to unlimited hay ➡ contact your rabbit-savvy vet 4. Introduce Slowly Offer one new herb blend at a time and wait 48 hours before trying another. 5. Not a Replacement for Hay These mixes are only for enrichment — hay should always remain 80–90% of the diet. ⸻ ✨ Why We Make These Blends Because rabbits thrive on natural foraging, gentle variety, and beautiful, aromatic enrichment — and we want to help you give them safe experiences without the risks of sugary store-bought treats. Every batch is blended by hand in micro-sizes to ensure freshness and quality. Every ingredient is chosen with Poppy — and your bunny — in mind. |
