🛒 Setareh Bunnies –
Supplies Hub
Bunny-safe essentials, curated with love (and approved by Poppy). ![]() Nothing here is sponsored; these are categories and types of supplies I genuinely believe in based on research, experience in the vet world, and life with Poppy. Always check with your rabbit-savvy vet if you’re unsure about a specific product. ⸻ 🏡 Housing & Enclosures Your bunny’s setup is the foundation of their health and happiness. We recommend: • Exercise pen–style setups, not tiny pet-store cages • Room to hop, stretch, flop, and stand up fully • A safe hidey house or wooden hide box • Solid flooring (no wire) with washable rugs, fleece, or mats Look for: • Minimum 4x4 ft living area, more if you can • Easy-to-clean materials • Space for litter box, hay, water, and toys Bunnies thrive when they have room to move — more space often means calmer, happier behavior. ⸻ 🌾 Hay & Pellets Hay is life for rabbits. Pellets are the backup singers, not the lead. Hay • Primary hay: timothy, orchard grass, or a grass hay mix • Offered 24/7 in hay racks, baskets, or litter boxes • Fresh, fragrant, not dusty or moldy Pellets • High-quality adult rabbit pellets (for Poppy’s age group, your vet may recommend baby/young rabbit pellets until 6–7 months) • No added seeds, dried fruits, or colorful pieces • Measured portions, not free-fed (your vet can help with exact amounts) ⸻ 🚽 Litter & Litter Box Setup Litter training makes life easier for everyone. Litter Box Basics: • A large, low-sided box or cat-sized litter pan • Paper-based or wood-pellet litter (never clumping clay or scented cat litter) • Hay placed at one end or above the box (bunnies love to munch and poop) Avoid: • Pine/cedar shavings • Scented litters • Corn cob or clumping litters ⸻ 🍽 Bowls, Bottles & Feeding Accessories Hydration and clean feeding setups matter more than most people realize. • Heavy ceramic bowls for water and pellets (harder to tip) • Some buns like bottles + bowls – offering both is okay • Easy-to-wash hay racks or baskets that keep hay off the floor but accessible • Stainless steel or ceramic only (no flimsy plastic for chewers) ⸻ 🎲 Enrichment, Toys & Chews Enrichment isn’t “extra” – it’s essential. Bunny-safe enrichment ideas: • Willow balls, apple wood sticks, untreated seagrass mats • Cardboard toys (no tape, staples, or glossy ink) • Dig boxes with shredded paper or hay • Snuffle mats and forage toys • Tunnels and hideouts Look for: • Natural materials (untreated wood, grass, cardboard) • No loose strings, small plastic pieces, or unsafe dyes ⸻ 🧼 Grooming & Basic Care A few simple tools go a long way: • Soft slicker brush or grooming glove (especially during sheds) • Nail clippers appropriate for small animals • Styptic powder (just in case of nail nicks – used carefully) • A small hand towel for gentle restraint if needed Your exotic vet can show you how to safely trim nails and what brushing schedule is best for your bunny’s coat type. ⸻ 🩺 Bunny First-Aid & Vet Prep This is not a replacement for veterinary care, but having basics on hand helps: • A small digital scale to monitor weight • Thermometer (and instructions from your vet on how/when to use it) • A carrier that opens from the top and front for safe transport • An exotic vet contact list: • Regular day vet • Emergency/after-hours clinic • A simple “When to Call the Vet” checklist (GI slowdown, not eating, changes in poop, sudden lethargy, etc.) ⸻ 🌸 Poppy’s Burrow Blends & Herbal Sprinkles Our home is also where Poppy’s Burrow Blends were born — tiny herbal sprinkles designed for enrichment and gentle support. You’ll find: • Calm & Forage Sprinkle – for soft, floral enrichment and relaxation • Meadow Herb Mix – a pretty, plant-based forage-style topper • Belly Blend – a tiny, occasional comfort sprinkle for tummies • Hydration Herb Topper – gentle herbs to support hydration encouragement These are not a replacement for hay, pellets, or vet care — just small, thoughtfully crafted add-ons for sniffing, foraging, and the occasional wellness boost. (Always introduce new foods slowly and check with your vet, especially for young, senior, or medically fragile rabbits.) ⸻ 🔍 How to Use This Hub • New bunny parent?
