Yes — when appropriate. All grooming services are performed using calm, low-stress handling and are limited to routine maintenance only. If a rabbit shows signs of pain, illness, or excessive stress, grooming will not be performed and veterinary care will be recommended. ⸻ Do you sedate rabbits for grooming? No. Setareh does not sedate rabbits or perform any grooming that would require sedation. Rabbits that cannot be safely groomed while awake should be seen by a veterinarian. ⸻ Are you a veterinarian? No. Setareh provides education-based care and routine grooming only. We do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medications, or treat infections. Grooming services are not a substitute for veterinary care. ⸻ What if my rabbit has mites, an infection, or sores? If we observe signs of infection, mites, inflammation, discharge, or open sores, grooming will not be performed. We will refer you to a qualified rabbit-savvy or exotic veterinarian for proper treatment. ⸻ How often should my rabbit have their nails trimmed? Most rabbits benefit from nail trims every 4–6 weeks, depending on growth rate and activity level. We’re happy to help assess your rabbit’s needs during a visit. ⸻ How often do scent glands need cleaning? Many rabbits do not need regular scent gland cleaning. It is more commonly needed for senior rabbits, overweight rabbits, or those with limited mobility. We only clean scent glands when external buildup is present and safe to remove. ⸻ Will grooming hurt my rabbit? No. Grooming should not be painful. If a rabbit appears uncomfortable or distressed, we will stop the service. Your rabbit’s comfort and safety always come first. ⸻ Can grooming be added to a consultation? Yes — grooming services may be added to in-home consultations when appropriate and when the rabbit is calm enough to handle safely. ⸻ What if my rabbit doesn’t tolerate grooming? Some rabbits simply cannot tolerate grooming without high stress. If this occurs, we may stop the service early or recommend veterinary grooming support instead.
